The Patricia Grand has more than 200 rooms and suites, and they are not all the same kind of room. Some are hotel-style and simple. Some have a full kitchen and sleep six. Picking the right one before you book is the difference between a comfortable week and a crowded one.

Two questions that narrow it down fast

How many people are sleeping in the room? Our layouts sleep two, four, or six. The count includes Murphy beds and sleeper sofas, so a suite that sleeps six is using the living room as well as the bedroom.

Do you want a kitchen? Every room type here has a private balcony, but only one of them skips the kitchen. If you plan to make breakfast, keep leftovers, or feed a family without eating out three times a day, choose an efficiency or a one-bedroom suite.

If you want a Myrtle Beach hotel with a kitchen

This is where the Patricia Grand does something most beachfront hotel rooms cannot. Eight of our nine layouts include a real kitchen, not a kitchenette. That means an oven, a stovetop, a refrigerator and a microwave, so you can cook a full meal instead of reheating one.

The practical version: coffee on your own balcony in the morning, sandwiches packed for the beach at midday, and a proper dinner in when nobody feels like changing out of swimsuits. For a family staying a week, that is a meaningful part of the trip budget.

If you want the kitchen, choose any efficiency or one-bedroom suite. The only layout without one is the Oceanview Standard King, which still gives you a small refrigerator and a microwave.

If it is just the two of you

Two layouts are built for a pair.

The Oceanfront Efficiency King gives you a California king, a full kitchen and a private balcony facing the ocean. It is the one to book if you want to slow down, eat in when you feel like it, and spend the morning on the balcony instead of hunting for a table.

The Oceanview Standard King is the simpler choice. One king bed, one bathroom, a small refrigerator and microwave, and a private balcony with an ocean view. If you are out most of the day and only need somewhere comfortable to land, it does the job without paying for a kitchen you will not use.

If you are traveling with family or a group of up to six

Our largest layouts sleep six, and all of them use the living room as a second sleeping space.

The Ocean View 1 Bedroom w/King & Murphy puts a king in the bedroom and adds a Murphy bed plus a sleeper sofa in the living room. The Oceanfront 1 Bedroom Suite w/Murphy Bed uses two queen beds in the bedroom and a Murphy bed in the living room, which suits four adults and two kids better than one king does. The Oceanfront 1 Bedroom Suite w/Sleeper Sofa also sleeps six, with two queen beds in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room.

In the middle, the Oceanfront Efficiency Queen sleeps four in two queen beds, the Oceanfront Efficiency King/Sleeper sleeps four with a California king and a full sleeper sofa, and the Oceanfront 1 Bedroom Suite w/King sleeps four with a king and a full sleeper sofa, plus a separate bedroom door you can close once the kids are down. The Ocean View 1 Bedroom Suite w/King is the ocean view version of that layout, sleeping four with a king in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room.

One honest note on larger groups. If you need more than six people, you are booking more than one unit, and we cannot guarantee that those units will be next door to each other or on the same floor. Talk to our reservations team about what is available for your dates rather than assuming rooms can be placed together.

If you are bringing a dog

We welcome small dogs in select pet-friendly rooms on designated floors, and the rules are specific. Dogs only, with no cats, birds or reptiles. A limit of two dogs per room, 20 lbs. per dog. The fee is $35 per day, per pet, collected by the front desk at check-in. Breed restrictions apply, dogs must be leashed in public areas, and they are not permitted in the pool areas. Advance notice is required, and ADA service animals are always welcome.

Four layouts are pet-friendly: the Oceanview Standard King, the Oceanfront Efficiency Queen, the Oceanfront Efficiency King and the Oceanfront Efficiency King/Sleeper. The one-bedroom suites are not. If you are staying a month or more

Guests staying at least 28 consecutive nights may qualify for an extended stay rate. Monthly rates run October through March, and March rates are only available to guests staying a total of 88 consecutive nights.

A kitchen matters more on a long stay than on a long weekend, so most snowbirds choose an efficiency or a one-bedroom suite. Winter rental rates do not include daily housekeeping, and monthly stays follow a different set of policies than nightly bookings, so read those before you commit.

A few things worth knowing before you book

• All units are individually owned, so decor varies between rooms of the same type. Photos show a sample of the layout, not the exact unit.
• We are a limited-service facility and daily housekeeping is not provided.
• Special requests such as a specific room or floor cannot be guaranteed.
• Check-in begins at 4:00 p.m. and check-out is before 10:00 a.m.
• Parking is free in the garage across the street, with a maximum of one parking pass per room. Trailers are not permitted.
• The property is strictly non-smoking, including balconies.
